Imus is an idiot. Should retire. What's goes around, comes around. Yada, yada, yada. His remark about the Rutger's women's b-ball team was stupid, unfunny and beyond insensitive and given the context,
the outrage is well-founded. But for crying out loud, FOUR days of news coverage on this - and NO ONE is outraged about
that. Except me.

Ellen, if this was remotely about Imus there wouldn't be that much outrage. Clear your head sweetie and realize this is bigger than shockjockery. This is the First Amendment. This is one of the first things our forefathers fought and died for 200 plus years ago. It's also one of the Amendments that hasn't been "amended." It stands in it's original form. Your reasons for outrage are honorable, but direct it where it will do some good. Write to CBS and MSNBC and ask why they allowed his radio show format to continue for so long. I can give you an answer: He's their biggest money maker. Don't take Imus's absence from the airwaves to mean he's gone for good. He'll be back on satellite radio and with a little luck they'll make a reality show out of his lawsuit against CBS. You can't fire a person for following the terms of their employment contract. You can, however, change the terms of the contract. The Supreme Court and the FCC are the only ones who can make unilateral decisions where freedom of speech is concerned. You thought 4 days was bad . . . brace yourself for a few more months of it. If you keep an open mind, you just might learn something.
